Why this matters: Fraudulent COIs are a known problem in trucking. Always cross-check the insurer name in the NAIC database. Legitimate admitted carriers appear at content.naic.org/cis/searchCompany. If the insurer cannot be found, do not accept the certificate.

How to Get Your API Key
- Go to the FMCSA registration page: ask.fmcsa.dot.gov — Register for QC API — opens in new tab
- Complete the short registration form with your company name, USDOT#, and email address
- FMCSA will email your webKey — usually within 1 business day
- Paste it in the field below and click Save Configuration
